Dear Friends,

When your loved one is suffering, the only thing that matters is easing their pain. ALS patients and their families benefit daily from the various patient service programs ALS Ride For Life offer, helping them navigate the physical, emotional, and financial challenges they face. Thanks to generous donors like you, our team can offer Respite Care grants, Legal Aid grants, a Caregiver Support Group, Durable Medical Equipment loans, Scholarships, Critical Financial Support for the ALS clinic at Stony Brook, and Wheelchair-Accessible vans.

Our Mobility Matters Program is unique because we are the only Long Island-based ALS non-profit able to provide Wheelchair-Accessible vans. This year we have been able to add two vans to our fleet. The impact of this program on an ALS family is immeasurable.

Please meet the Olsen Family, a family we can help through our patient service programs.

Rob was an NYC Fireman with Engine 229-Ladder 146 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, when he was diagnosed with ALS. Rob is married to Natalie, and they have three amazing children, Paige, Ryan, and Owen. The Olsens received a wheelchair-handicap loaner van through our Mobility Matters Program.

“Thank you for this opportunity… this is a game changer for his life and staying connected. We are so grateful for all you do. ALS Ride For Life is a blessing to us and many others. We are forever grateful.” -Natalie Olsen.

Paige Olsen was also a Senior Scholarship recipient and is currently a freshman at Binghamton University.

Your gift today will enable us to help more families like the Olsen Family.

With you by our side, we continue to honor the legacy of our founder, Chris Pendergast and continue our mission of funding cutting-edge research, providing Patient Services, and raising Awareness of this fatal disease. There is reason for HOPE. Our research funding supports the development of new drugs, such as, Relyvrio, which was approved by the FDA this fall to treat ALS. Researchers continue to search for a cure. Technological advances are being made to improve the quality of life for pALS (patients with ALS). But much more remains to be done.

You have already helped us make so much happen; thank you! Please know your support is vital for us to continue to deliver quality patient service programs that help change the lives of pALS and their families when they need it most.

Wishing you and your family many blessings,

Ray Manzoni, President/Chairman, and Marilyn Sloan, Executive Director, along with the entire ALS Ride For Life Family
